Custom modular home in Little River designed for family living

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do at The Quarters Co is helping families stay connected, and this beautiful 60m² custom modular home in Little River is a perfect example.

Designed as a small secondary dwelling (SSD), the home provides a comfortable and private space where our client can enjoy greater independence while living close to her family.

A custom small secondary dwelling with a personal touch

Our client was ready to embrace a slower pace of life, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the city to downsize and move onto her daughter’s farm. Being closer to family while maintaining her independence was incredibly important, so together we created a home that was practical, comfortable and uniquely hers.

Every detail of this custom modular home was thoughtfully considered. The kitchen was upgraded with elegant Caesarstone benchtops, while the cabinetry, fixtures and finishes were carefully selected to reflect the owner’s personal style.

A favourite feature is the bespoke study nook within the living area, complete with a floating timber desk and custom shelving. Designed to display treasured family photographs and keepsakes, it creates a space that is both functional and deeply personal.

Thoughtfully finished and ready to enjoy

To make moving day even easier, we worked with one of our trusted local blind suppliers in Geelong to have all curtains and blinds selected, manufactured and installed before the home left our Hesse facility.

This meant that when the home arrived onsite and installation was complete, it was ready for our client to enjoy.

One of the many advantages of a complete prefabricated building package from The Quarters Co is just how comprehensively finished it can be. Once delivered, the recommended licensed builder secures the home to the prepared footings and installs the custom-made canopy onsite, while local trades complete the required service connections.

One of our previous clients was even able to move her furniture into her home on the day it was delivered and sleep there that first night. How wonderful is that?

Creating more opportunities for multigenerational living

For many Victorian families, Small Secondary Dwellings are becoming an increasingly attractive way to live closer together while maintaining privacy and independence.

A small secondary dwelling is a self-contained home of no more than 60m², located on the same lot as an existing dwelling. In many cases, one can be developed without a planning permit, although a building permit is always required. Planning requirements can vary depending on the property’s size, zoning, overlays and other site-specific controls, so these must be confirmed before proceeding.

Helping families create beautiful spaces where generations can live close together while maintaining their own independence is something we feel incredibly privileged to be part of.
