Our prefabricated building process

At The Quarters Co, we make bringing your project to life straightforward, transparent and stress-free. We guide you through the design, documentation and coordination of your prefabricated building package, while your licensed builder, selected from The Quarters Co’s trusted builder network, is responsible for constructing your building at our Hesse manufacturing facility and installing it onto your prepared footings onsite.

This collaborative approach combines The Quarters Co’s design expertise and project coordination with the experience of a trusted licensed builder, ensuring a seamless journey from concept through to completion.

Step 1

Discovery and consultation

The Quarters Co

Every project begins with a conversation. We’ll discuss your site, budget, vision and how you intend to use your building, whether it’s a compact studio, family home, staff accommodation, commercial building or a completely custom design.

Once we understand your requirements, we’ll prepare an estimate and guide you through the next steps.

Step 2

Design and documentation

The Quarters Co

We’ll work with you to select one of our existing floor plans or create a completely custom design.

Working closely with our architects and designers, we’ll prepare your concept drawings, design documentation and 3D renders while guiding you through your layouts, colours, finishes and inclusions to create the perfect end result.

Step 3

Agreements and approvals

The Quarters Co

  • Supply Agreement for your prefabricated building package.
  • Final design documentation.
  • Coordinate with the licensed builder from our trusted network and act as your representative throughout the design and manufacturing process.

Your Licensed Builder (selected from The Quarters Co’s trusted builder network)

  • HIA Building Contract.

Client

  • Obtain a Planning Permit (where required).
  • Obtain a Building Permit.
  • Arrange any site-specific approvals.

We can recommend experienced town planners, building surveyors and other consultants to assist with obtaining the required approvals.

Step 4

Manufacturing

The Quarters Co

Once your design has been finalised and all approvals are in place, manufacture of your prefabricated building package commences at our Hesse facility.

Throughout manufacturing, we’ll keep you informed with regular progress updates, photographs and key milestones while acting as your representative throughout the manufacturing process.

Your Licensed Builder

Your licensed builder constructs your prefabricated building package at our Hesse manufacturing facility in accordance with the approved design documentation and applicable building standards.

Step 5

Site preparation and installation

The Quarters Co

  • Continue acting as your representative throughout the installation process.
  • Liaise with your licensed builder and remain available to assist throughout your project.

Your Licensed Builder

  • Install your prefabricated building package onto the prepared footings onsite.

Client

  • Organise transport of your prefabricated building package to site.
  • Arrange site preparation.
  • Complete footings and foundations.
  • Engage local trades.
  • Arrange power, water, sewer or septic connections.
  • Coordinate any additional onsite works.

We can provide recommendations for transport companies, town planners, building surveyors and local trades to assist with your project.

Step 6

Completion

The Quarters Co

We’ll remain available to support you throughout the completion of your project and assist with any questions relating to your prefabricated building package.

Client & Local Trades

Following installation, your appointed local trades complete all remaining onsite works, including service connections. Your building surveyor will then carry out the final inspection and issue the Occupancy Permit (where applicable).

Once these final stages have been completed, your new Quarters Co building is ready to enjoy.
